I took my first running steps in my 40s starting in 2013 and competed in my first sprint triathlon in 2015. That makes me a newer athlete that is learning something new each year! Okay, more than one thing each year. In younger years, I was a varsity tennis player in high school and swam competitively for eight years. I have now completed 50 races including 5k, 8k, 10k, indoor triathlons, and sprint triathlons. In 2016 and 2017, I was named an Esprit de She Ambassador! Fast forward to today and I am honored to be selected as a 2020 Ambassador for Honey Stinger (3rd year) and Nuun (3rd year) as well as a member of Team Zoot (1st year)! Through it all, I have found better balance in my life and am more healthy both physically and mentally then ever before.
Outside of the triathlon world, I am a college administrator, adjunct professor, background actor, author, facilitator, and student. Beyond work and training, I travel domestically and internationally often with friends trying new adventures like indoor skydiving and sleeping on an ice bed as well as volunteer in Chicago. In recent years, I was selected as a 2017 ACPA Diamond Honoree and as a 2017 inductee of the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference Co-Curricular Hall of Fame.
